ભારત 2023માં નવી દિલ્હીમાં મહિલા વર્લ્ડ બોક્સિંગ ચેમ્પિયનશિપનું આયોજન કરશે. ગ્લોબલ ગવર્નિંગ બોડીને જરૂરી ફી ન ચૂકવવા બદલ દેશ દ્વારા પુરુષોની ઇવેન્ટ્સના હોસ્ટિંગ અધિકારો છીનવી લેવાયાના બે વર્ષ પછી આ નિર્ણય આવ્યો છે. નોંધનીય છે કે, ભારતે ક્યારેય પુરૂષોની વિશ્વ ચેમ્પિયનશિપનું આયોજન કર્યું નથી પરંતુ તે ત્રીજી વખત હશે કે જ્યારે ભારતમાં ચુનંદા મહિલાઓની સ્પર્ધા યોજાશે. ચેમ્પિયનશિપ 2006 અને 2018માં નવી દિલ્હીમાં યોજાઈ હતી.

India will host the Women's World Boxing Championship in New Delhi in 2023. The decision comes two years after the country was stripped of hosting rights to the men's events for failing to pay the required fees to the global governing body. Notably, India has never hosted a men's world championship but this will be the third time India will host the elite women's event. The championship was held in New Delhi in 2006 and 2018.
