ભારતે ઓડિશાના અબ્દુલ કલામ દ્વીપ પરથી પરમાણુ-સક્ષમ ઇન્ટરમીડિયેટ રેન્જ બેલિસ્ટિક મિસાઇલ (IRBM) અગ્નિ-3નું સફળ પ્રક્ષેપણ કર્યું. અગ્નિ-3 નું પ્રથમ જાણીતું વિકાસલક્ષી ટ્રાયલ જુલાઈ 2006 માં હાથ ધરવામાં આવ્યું હતું, પરંતુ તે અપેક્ષિત પરિણામ લાવી શક્યું ન હતું. ત્યારબાદ એપ્રિલ 2007માં તેનું સફળતાપૂર્વક ફ્લાઇટ-પરીક્ષણ કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું અને ત્યારથી આ સિસ્ટમનું સફળતાપૂર્વક પરીક્ષણ કરવામાં આવ્યું છે.

India successfully test-launched nuclear-capable Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile (IRBM) Agni-3 from Odisha's Abdul Kalam Island. The first known developmental trial of Agni-3 was conducted in July 2006, but did not yield the expected results. It was then successfully flight-tested in April 2007 and the system has been successfully tested ever since.
